Why I Create Art

I love to paint animals and landscapes in a fantastical or surreal way to show the beauty in nature or to show more than what the human eye sees. My eyes often see a deeper spiritual and imaginative side to animals and nature and that is always expressed in my work. Painting animals and landscapes is also part of my mission as a vegan and climate change activist to raise awareness for climate change and the plight and suffering of nature and the animals. I have also been creating worlds, environments, and creatures as I love to explore and express my imagination. This is core to my art. I also do this to escape the real world. The reason for this is to escape the pain and suffering of the world. I also hope to take others with me on a journey to escape their own pain and the suffering in the world. I often also am inspired and paint from many other cultures and mythologies in my work, as my heritage is from Cyprus, and there is is a melting pot of many cultures there. The reason why I love to show different cultures and mythological creatures in my art is that they are timeless and powerful. I often paint powerful dragons creatures or heroes as I feel they are protecting me from past trauma and others from evil and harm. I often like to showcase known mythology in art in a new light or bring mythology to life that has been lost or not in mainstream culture.
