The Raiju is a mythical beast from Japanese mythology. Often depicted as a white or blue wolf that is made of lightning, it was said to be normally peaceful but during storms, it would become unstoppably destructive. This was the inspiration of the Raiju in Luminous Ages, the popular fantasy series by award-winning fantasy artist, Anthony Christou.
